Last night I stayed up late doing my am exercise. I only had one 30 min run left to do this morning. I got up at 5:45 when Jared’s alarm went off. Around 6:45 I woke the boys, dressed them, and put them in their carseats. They ate dry cheerios and drank milk on the trip to town. As we neared Jared’s work Adam waved saying, “Hi Daddy.” Usually he says, “There’s Daddy’s work.” I dropped the boys off at Grandpa’s house because Mom was there this morning. From there I drove Mom's car so she could have the van for the boys. My appointment lasted the whole 2 hrs – bummer. I’m glad to have it over with. The boys were eating a snack when I got to Mom’s house. Mom turned on some music and we relaxed while listening to it. Adam danced to the music. Mom and Jacob headed back to Grandpa’s house to hang his laundry on the line. Jacob ate his lunch on the drive there. Adam and I stayed at Mom’s house and ate lunch together. Mom made strawberry shortcake, which was really good. Adam loved all of it, but Jacob only wanted to eat the biscuit. Kenzie and Josie (her good friend) came over to go swimming. We all went for a swim. The weather was in the mid 90’s today. Adam came in with me some but mostly enjoyed playing out of the pool. Nana got out the flower sprinkler, where the flower moves all over spraying water. The boys thought this sprinkler was very funny. Mom also got out the slip and slide. Kenzie put dish soap on that to help them slide faster. Both boys tried the slip and slide. Adam really liked the sprinkler on its side. Jacob mostly enjoyed being in the pool. He now swim’s (with swimmies and a water noodle) all over the pool by himself. We spent a couple hours out there and all had a great time. The boys played with Noah’s arch for a while after getting into their dry clothes. Around 4:15 we left for home. Jacob fell asleep almost as soon as we left the driveway. And Adam was asleep soon after that. Jared and I met at Sears to return a cheap hose. They gave Jared a much nicer (more expensive) hose for no extra charge. While Jared sat with the sleeping boys I went into Walmart for a couple things. Then we had to take back some chicken fencing we didn’t end up using. We got home around 5:30. Both boys woke up as we opened the van doors. We came inside to get dinner ready. After dinner we went outside to take care of the animals. Adam asked Daddy to take off his shirt saying he was too cold. This evening Daddy had fun building a track from Vikki’s road set. The boys enjoyed playing with that. I relaxed with a cup of coffee. Adam pointed at the smaller couch saying, “I wanna jump on a little couch.” On the second jump he fell and hit his head on the side of the glider rocker. He now has a huge bump on his head. Around 8:30 it started raining. We watched from the couch. Daddy called us saying there was a rainbow in the sky. It was such a nice rain. We got out the umbrellas and took a walk in our driveway. The boys loved it when Daddy stood with his umbrella under the leaking gutter. Jacob liked standing under it with his umbrella and water boots on. Adam would stick his umbrella under but he didn’t want to stand under there. The boys were tucked in bed by 9:15. Jacob didn’t fall asleep until 10:30.

I got up at 6am. Jared had my coffee (even my mug and creamer) all ready for me this morning. He’s such a thoughtful husband. Jacob woke up shortly before 8am and Adam was up soon after that. The boys had a fun time playing with Vikki’s road set (she is letting us use it). I enjoyed building roads too. During breakfast they watched the tractor video. We had to go to towm for some things. I let the dogs outside as I got the boys in their carseats. When I went to put them back inside Truman was gone. After a long while searching for him and driving up and down our road I found him near Stark. He was running fast back for home and was all muddy. After putting Truman back in the house I got in the van and Adam said, “Mommy, want Truman out here gain.” I guess he thought the whole thing was fun. We headed over to the grain elevator for chicken food. After the guys loaded up the 10 bags Adam said, “I go wimming at Nana’s house. I want tell him dat.” On the drive to the grocery store the boys noticed some construction vehicles at work. It was a very busy construction site with excavators, bob cats, dump trucks and many more. I parked on the side of the road and we watched them work for a little while. The boys thought it was really neat. We also went to the grocery store and Home Depot. At Home Depot the boys liked watching the forklift being used. The broiler chickens didn’t have any food this morning so I fed them right away when we got home. After lunch we went for a swim in our bigger pool. Jacob loved it. Adam didn’t care for it and preferred playing from the outside of the pool. He seemed to like it at first but soon started crying. I tried holding him but he just wanted out. As I pulled weeds in the garden Adam, who was by the pool, started crying. I hurried to him and he said, “Dat bug on my head. On my back. Dat bug bite me.” It looks like he got stung on his back. He said, “I want call Daddy.” We went inside so we could call Daddy at work. He wasn’t there so the boys left him a message. I put some medicine on the sting and Adam asked for a bandade. Jacob said, “I can put that on for you” and he put the bandade over the sting. Adam was telling me about being stung and his bandaide and then asked, “Wanna see?” The boys ate a snack while we read books. At 2:30 I tucked Adam in for a nap. Jacob seemed very tired so I had him lay in bed while resting today. He played with some cars. I did a 30 min run. At 3:30 we went outside. Jacob played while I worked on putting fencing around the chicken tractor. We came inside for a little while to cool down in the AC. It was a hot 90 degree day. Jacob played with the road set while I relaxed with a cup of coffee. Then we went back outside to do more work on the chicken tractor. Jared got home at around 6pm. Adam woke up around that same time. Jacob tried strawberries and decided now that he loves them. After dinner we went back outside to finish the chicken tractor. We moved it into the paddock and then started hauling two chickens at a time in a container with a lid. Before placing them in their new home they all got sprayed with the hose. I did the spraying and then carried them in the container over by the "tractor". Jared did the catching of all the birds and carryed them to me with the hose. Then he put the sprayed chickens in the "tractor". It was a hard, nasty (flapping wings of very dirty birds) job but needed to be done. After getting the first stall of chickens done we moved the second stall of chickens into the roosters coop. He is going to be in a stall for a couple weeks. We sprayed all of them off once they were in the coop. The boys played while we worked. They had lots of fun in the hayloft and then finished up the evening by spraying each other with the hose. We came back inside around 9:30. The boys were tucked in bed by close to 10pm. We have to get up early because I have 2hr dentist appointment at 8:00. The boys are staying with Nana.

I got up at 6am to do my exercises. Jacob slept until around 8:30. He typed on the computer. Then we went outside to feed Sammy his grain. Mom called to see if we wanted to come pick strawberries with her this morning. Adam woke up just after she called at around 9:30. The boys ate breakfast and then I helped them get ready for the day. We headed over to Mom’s house around 10:30. In the van Adam showed Jacob how he can count to 11. Then Jacob said, “You know what? I can count to 100. I’ll show you at Nana’s house.” At Mom’s I put sunscreen on the boys while she took her dog outside. Then we headed right over to the strawberry farm. Jacob sure was excited about going strawberry picking with Nana. We got to take a drive past the homes we grew up in which I always love doing – great memories! Jacob rubbed his eyes and got sunscreen in them. He could barely open them by the time we got to the place. I tried to wash it out but that didn’t help. He cried about this, more than not, most the while we picked. I brought a big umbrella for them to sit under and some tractors to play with but Jacob’s eyes were bothering him too much. I felt so bad for him. Mom and I hurried to pick but the picking was slim. We filled up two containers and then called it quits. Jacob did like when Nana and I were trying to find the biggest strawberry. Adam loved being there and enjoyed eating the strawberries. He’d pick a strawberry, pull off the stem, and then eat it. It was very hot, nearly 90 degrees out today. On the way back to Mom’s house we stopped for slurpies at 7 eleven. The boys liked picking out their flavors and straw colors. We ate a late lunch when we got back to Mom’s house. Papa was there for lunch and both boys were excited about that. We got on swimming suits and went for a refreshing swim. We also set up the sprinkler for the boys to play in. Adam played in that for a while before joining us in the pool. He complained, “I want out” for a while before deciding that he really liked being in the pool. He preferred to be held by me or Nana, but did spend some time in the floating pool toy and liked that too. Jacob hung out on the ladder at first. He'd climb down on the ladder into the water. When I carried him around in the water he hung onto me very tightly yelling, "I want out!" I showed him that the water noodle and swimmies would keep him from going under water. Soon he realized how much fun it was being in the water. I spun him in circles saying, “Motor boat Motor boat go so slow. Motor boat Motor boat go so fast. Motor boat Motor boat step on the gas!” He loved this as I spun him really fast at the end. As Jacob worked on kicking his feet to swim he smiled really big and laughed excitedly. He always made sure to have one or both of my fingers. Nana brought out the pool air mattress. Jacob liked sitting on that with his feet in the water. He put the basketball hoop over his head and then sang a song that he'd made up. Adam thought it was funny to dump cups of water over my head. He also had fun running thru the sprinker. Jacob preferred being in the pool. We stayed in there for a long time. Around 4:30 we went inside and Adam rested in Nana’s bed. I lay with him for a little while. Jacob played with the road set. Jared came over to Mom’s from work. He and Dad played some games of pingpong. Mel and her kids came over too. All the kids went downstairs to play until dinner was ready. Dad left for a meeting at church. Mom, Mel, Hailey, and I headed to another church where Hailey is attending VBS. Jared stayed with the four boys. We stopped at Tim Horton’s after dropping Hailey off at church. We visited at Mom’s until around 7:30. We stopped at Lowe’s for a few things. On the way home an airplane flew right in front of our van window and then landed at the small airport. The boys thought it was really neat to see and watch land. Jacob said, Wow, that’s HUGE!” Then he asked, “Why’s that plane look so small from way up in the sky? After taking care of the animals I took the boys inside and tucked them in bed around 9:30. Jared worked on the chicken tractor.

Happy Father's Day 2009
I got up at 6am to exercise. Jacob woke up at 8:00, soon followed by Kenzie, Daddy, and Adam. The kids told Daddy Happy Fathers Day and were excited to show him the cards they’d made. When Daddy mentioned that he wondered if Jacob could hide a gift better than Mommy Adam came walking over holding his gift. Jacob hurried and hid it again. Daddy searched the bedrooms and then the living room. With help from the boys, he found it hidden between the couch and the coffee table. The kids were excited as they watched him open his new pingpong paddle. We surprised my Dad and came to their church today. The boys sat by us during the service. They colored and did a good job being quiet out there. After church we went to Mom’s house. She made sloppy jo’s, potato salad, hot dogs, and baked beans for lunch. While dinner was being made the kids played with the road set that Vikki found at a garage sale. Its really neat and Mel and I were making offers to buy it. After eating Dad opened his Father’s Day gifts. Then he and Jared went downstairs to play pingpong. I took the kids down there to play. Shortly after 2:00 I read with Adam and then lay him down for a nap. Mel put Jack and Max down for naps also. Kenzie, Jared, Mom, and Hailey, and Jacob went for a swim. Jacob spent all his time on the ladder. I went inside to check on Adam and found that he was still awake. I asked him if he wanted to swim and he excitedly said, “Uh huh!” He didn’t want to go in the pool water so we tried the boat. Most of the time in that he whinned, “I want out.” Nana got a neat sprinkler that the kids had fun playing in. Around 4pm we headed over to Grandpa’s house. While we were all in the screened porch we watched a turkey take a dust bath in his garden. Papa and Nana had drove over on their motorcycle. Papa tried to sit Adam on it but he didn’t want to. Jacob didn’t want to either. They did liked listening to him start it up and beep the horn. I tried on the helmet and gloves, which they thought was funny. We stopped at Mom’s on the way home to pick up the Vibe. As we were driving in the van Adam counted from 1-11 slowly and perfectly many times. Sometimes he would say a 1 instead of 4 but most the times he got it right. Of course when I tried to video tape it he wouldn’t cooperate. We stopped at Home Depot for some things for the chicken tractor. The boys sat in one of their car carts. I noticed Jacob pulling gum off a napkin that was in the cart - gross. The gum was also on Adam's foot (he had bare feet). We got home at 7pm and ate a late dinner. After I was done eating Adam asked, "You all done eating? You full?" This evening the boys took their bath's separately. Adam was first. He prefers Jacob being in the tub with him but didn have fun giving the Little People baths. Jacob enjoyed being in the tub by himself. After the boys were tucked in bed Jared went outside to work on the chicken tractor.
