Today was Family Fun Day at my sister Vikki's work. We stopped on the way to pick up Max so he could come too. The boys loved walking through the factory and seeing all the machines and car parts. They all got balloons and safety glasses. It was fun to see exactly what my sister does at work. From there we drove to an area where they had lots of fun activities and food. Jared and Kenzie climbed the rock wall. The boys really liked seeing the monster truck as it drove over the cars. After a while Nana came and she ate lunch with us. They served hot dogs, chips, and drinks. We also got popcorn and cotton candy. Jacob, Adam, and Max made necklaces at the "family factory." Jared, Kenzie, and Jacob got air brushed tattoos. Around 1pm it started to rain. We got home around 4:00. It was a chilly day and we started the corn burner for fun.

Eli sleeping.

Adam woke up around 7am and we woke up Jacob. They watched the fire truck video during breakfast. The van battery had been charging all night so after starting it up I unhooked the charger. It wouldn’t start after I took Jacob into school. So we went inside to ask if there was anyone who could give me a jump. They said no but let me use their phone (I’d forgotten my cell phone). I left a message for Jared at his work. Then a man offered to jump my battery. I got home and called Jared. He was on his way on the scooter but hadn’t gotten far. I fed Eli his breakfast, nursed him, and tucked him in for a nap around 9:30. He often falls asleep with the blanket over his face. Adam played with dominos and the little animals. He looked out the window and said, “It’s a beautiful day outside.” We went outside until lunchtime. Eli woke up around 12:30. Around 1:30 we went outside and stayed out there until it was time to walk to the end of the road and get Jacob off the bus. Jacob likes to tell me each day how many kids had to “flip a card”. In his class you “flip a card” to certain colors when you are misbehaving. He really likes sitting by Nik on the bus. They are in different classes at school. Jared got home around 5pm. Eli took another 3hr nap. The boys played with automoblox until dinner was ready. Around 7pm some people came over and bought our brush hog. It was a lot of work lifting it onto their small trailer but they finally got it. Jared went to town to get a new battery for the van. The boys played with their Bruder vehicles in the garden. Adam loves playing “house” and pretending he’s the Daddy. Eli enjoyed swinging. We came inside around 8pm. The boys watched Daddy played Crash while they ate a snack. Yesterday Eli started saying, “Dadadada.”

Watching the firetruck video
Showing Daddy the bug
The bus picks up kids at the end of our road at around 6:30am so I’ll be taking Jacob to school in the mornings. He does get to ride the bus home, which is about a 30 minute ride. The van wouldn’t start again this morning. I hurried to the barn to get the charger and an extension cord and got it hooked up to the battery. It only took about 10 minutes but made us about a minutes late to class. Back at home I fed Eli his breakfast and then we watched a firetruck video. Eli started to get really sleepy around 9:30. He fell asleep on my shoulder as I carried him to his crib. Adam and I went outside to enjoy the nice cool day. I pulled some weeds while Adam played. We came inside around noon for lunch. Eli woke up soon after that. We went back outside so I could clean up the Ford tractor because a couple is coming this evening who are interested in buying it. Then we went over to the fort to play. Adam had a great time sliding down the slide on a board. He said the board was his skateboard and he went down on it many, many times. We walked down to the end of the road to wait for Jacob’s bus. Adam was excited when he saw the bus coming. Jacob was happy that he got to sit by Nik on the bus today. The boys raced back home and played on the fort/slide. Jared got home around 5pm. This evening a man came over and bought our old lawn tractor. The couple that was supposed to come look at the Ford tractor never came. The boys played with legos until dinner was ready. Eli tried some rice crispies today and seemed to like those. After dinner we went outside. Jacob found a bug, which he named it Nik. The boys had fun kicking around the soccer ball with Daddy. We came back inside for a snack and to get ready for bed. Jacob got to talk on the phone to Grandma.

Jacob's first day of kindergarten!
Here is Jacob on his first day of preschool

Eli's first try of cheerios.
I woke Jacob and Adam up shortly after 7am. Jacob sure was excited about school. Wow, first day of kindergarten - time does go by too quickly! After breakfast, brushing teeth/hair, and getting dressed it was already time to leave. I woke up Eli before leaving and just took him in his pj's. School starts at 8:00 and ends at 3:02pm, Monday-Friday. We walked Jacob to his classroom and he gave us hugs before going in. Back at home Adam and I played with the fire station set for awhile. Eli's such a cuddly little boy. I love how he lays his head on my shoulder to cuddle. Around 10:00 we got in the van, ready to head to my parents house, but the battery was dead. I hooked the battery up to the charger but it took about 1 1/2 hrs before it started. We got to Mom's house around 12:30. Adam made himself a sandwich for his lunch and I nursed Eli. Eli had a 1:30 doctor appointment. He weighed 18lbs 3.5oz and is 27 1/2 inches long. While I talked with the doctor Eli sat on my lap, chewed on his toes, and talked very loudly. Close to 2:00 my Mom came in so she could stay with Eli in case we didn't get done by the time I had to leave to pick up Jacob from school. Eli only cried while he was getting his shots. We were out of there around 2:10 and I got to Jacob's school about 10 minutes early. Thanks Mom for being there in case we needed to leave. We waited in the parent pick up area for Jacob. There we waited, and waited, and waited but still no Jacob and now the halls were nearly empty. I thought I saw Jacob's teacher so I walked down to his classroom but there was no one in there. I found his teacher and she said they'd sent him home on the bus. She asked if we'd signed him up for parental pickup. I thought we had to sigh him up for the bus. There was another Mom there who was in the same situation as me. I hurried home and passed his bus about a mile from our road. He sure was excited to ride the bus and said he wants to ride it every day. I enjoyed hearing him tell me about his day. After a snack the boys went right to playing with legos. Eli took a 3hr nap. This evening he tried cheerios for the first time. The boys were in bed around 8:30.
