The boys playing veterinarian - they took turns being the doctor or dog.

The boys were up shortly before 8am. They did some drawing/coloring with markers even before breakfast. Adam brought me a drawing saying, “That’s for you.” As I admired it he asked, “That great?” Most of the morning I worked on cleaning the house and doing laundry. The boys played so well together. They tipped the stools and pretended to be flying in hot air balloons. Then they used he stools as a doctor table. I put in a Clifford video for them to watch. Jared got home around 11:00 and helped me with some cleaning. The boys played with playdoh until we ate lunch at around 12:45. Jared’s friend from college, Chris, is staying with us tonight. He got here around 1:00. We visited and then took a walk outside to show him the farm. Its a very cool and windy day. Around 2:30 I lay Adam down for a nap. Jacob played at the table with playdoh while we sat at the table and visited. Then I did a 30 min run. Jacob got out his Bruder trucks and dominos to play with. He also gave some dominos and a tractor to Chris to play with. Adam woke up around 5pm. After dinner Jared and Chris played Wii Sports and then Mario Kart. Chris had never played the Wii before. Jacob cuddled on my lap for a long time and then he lay on the couch. The boys were tucked in bed shortly after 9pm.

This morning we woke up to Jacob in bed between us. It stormed during the night. Jared had to leave for work really early. I woke up at 6am and did a 30 min run. Jacob woke up around 6:30 and Adam was up shortly after 7am. The boys ate breakfast in the van as we headed to my Mom's house. Jared was already there by the time we got there. Mom rode with us as we headed over to Mel's house and then to our ultrasound appointment. The boys were excited about staying with Aunt Missy. It wasn't long into the appointment that we found out we were having another boy!!! This little guy sure liked to stay curled up with his knees almost touching his chin. The nurse and then the doctor took lots of measurments to rule out any abnormalities. They were unable to get a view of his stomach so they had me get up and move around for a while. Still they couldn't find it which gave them concern for a blocked esophagus. They asked that we come back at 11:45 for another look. Everything else appeared normal. Jared dropped me off at the blood clinic while he and Mom headed back to get his car. He had to get back to work so Mom came back to pick me up. Then we went to Mel's house for a little while before going to pick Hailey up from school. When Adam saw me he said, "I miss you Mommy." Jacob ran over and gave me a big hug. They were having fun playing outside with Uncle Bruce and Max. Mel got to come in with me for my second appointment while Bruce watched the kids. They saw the stomach right away this time but still want me to have another ultrasound in a few months. The kids were eating lunch when we came back. On our way back to Mom's we stopped at Tim Horton's to celebrate our baby boy news. Mom and I got capuccino's and muffins and the boys got a donut. As soon as we walked into Nana's house Adam asked to watch the Baby Einstein video. The boys had fun playing with the big foam blocks and matchbox cars. Adam lay down for a nap but never did go to sleep. Mom headed over to check on Grandpa. Jacob played with the cash register and then played the electric keyboard. Papa got there around 4pm and the boys were excited to see him. Kenzie got off the bus around 4:30. Jared came there from work and brought blue/pink cookies and cider. Mel and her family and Vikki were soon there too. After dinner (thank you Mom!) Jared made the baby boy/girl anouncement much in the way he did here on the blog but using the tv. Jacob mouth opened wide and then came a huge smile. He is very happy to be getting what he said he wanted, another brother. I printed a baby picture for all the kids. Hailey and Jacob also enjoyed going thru all the ultrasound pictures and having me explain them. We headed home around 7:30. Had to stop at meijer for some groceries. As we walked thru the store Jacob asked, "Mommy how many more leeps (sleeps) til the baby comes out?" Tonight Jacob wanted to sleep with his head at the end of his bed. He fell asleep holding his picture of the baby.

It's a boy!!!

Head, umbilical cord, arm, body, leg. Couldn't get a face picture because he was in this knee to chin position just about the whole time.

The Big Day by JB

Jared here again. This is getting to be quite frequent for me to be writing. Well today is the big day to get an untrasound to see how the baby is doing and to find out if the Russell tradition of churning out boys continues or to see if Kristen is going to finally get some company. But before I get to the nitty gritting I have to comment on an amazing storm that rolled through the other night. I awoke to quite a down poor. I rarely wake up but this storm was quite a doozie. The wind was howling and you could really hear the leaves whipping around. I fell back to sleep to wake up a little while later to see Jacob laying inbetween Kimmy and I. I asked her what happened and she said she didn't know she woke to find him lying there as well. Must of been startled by the storm. Come morning I awoke to see quite a strange site in the yard. I managed to find the ladder and climb on top of the barn to take a picture. I managed to convince Kimmy that her camera would be in good hands and I wouldn't drop it or bump it on the way up. The leaves had whipped around so much they made an amazing pattern on the lawn. I couldn't hardly believe it. Jacob and Adam seemed to enjoy the leaves as well. Anyway I though everyone would enjoy the pictures as well and attached them to this post. See below.

Hint Hint, wink wink, nudge nudge.... now what was I originally typing about.... .

Awh!!!

Daddy's hiding under that pile of leaves.

Where are the boys?

Adam did well in his class at church today. He sat at the table with the other kids rather than on my lap during the lesson. During the big group gathering Jacob raised his hand and answered a question from what they’d learned last week. We stopped at meijer for a few things before going home. The boys colored until the pizza was ready. After lunch we got out the legos to play with. The boys love building with those and played with them a lot today. Daddy played some Mario Kart. After snacktime and reading Daddy rocked and then tucked Adam in for a nap. I did some of tomorrow morning’s exercises because were going to be leaving early. Jacob and Daddy built a huge castle with the legos. Around 3:30 Adam yelled, “I awake!” We went outside to enjoy the nice, cool weather. We played in the sandbox for a while. Adam asked me to take off his shoes and socks so he could make footprints in the sand. He also likes me to bury his feet. Daddy used the lawn sweeper to make a huge pile of leaves for us to play in. We sure had a lot of fun. Came inside at dinnertime. After dinner the boys went back to playing with legos. I did some more exercises. The boys were tucked in bed by 9pm. As I tucked Jacob in he said, "I miss Grandma. I wanna go see her." Tomorrow is our ultrasound. Can't wait to see our baby!!!

Boys in the ditch.

Their gate with sticks.

Laughing at Daddy.

Jacob with his new bat and glove.

I got up at 6am to exercise. Jacob came down to our bedroom at 7:30 saying his belly hurt. He lay in our bed by Daddy until I was finished. Adam woke up around 8:00. After breakfast and getting ready for the day we headed to town for our Sat am drinks and donuts. Instead of my usually milk, this morning I got apple cider with my muffin – yummy! We stopped at Salvation Army and also went to a garage sale. The man at the garage sale gave Jacob two bats, a glove, and also let him pick out a ball. Jacob smiled big as he told the man thank-you. As we walked away Jacob said, “That’s a nice man.” Jacob gave Adam one of the bats and we had an extra ball in the van. At home I gave Adam a glove. We had a fun time hitting and catching the ball. Jacob practiced hitting the ball and hit it several times on his own. It was such a nice, cool day and we enjoyed some time outside. We went back inside for lunch at 12:30. I rested on the couch while the boys did some coloring. Then we went back outside. Daddy found a snake in the ditch. The boys had fun playing in the leaves. We went inside at 3pm for a snack. I tucked Adam in for a late nap at 3:30. Jacob continued his coloring. A man came over to look at our Vibe and says he’s very interested. I did a 30 min run. Adam was up by 4:30. We got out the legos to play with. Soon after that we heard/saw Nana and Papa drive up on their motorcycle. The boys were excited to see them. It was sprinkling outside and they were a little damp. Mom was able to dry her shirt and I made some coffee for Dad. We had a nice visit. Jared stacked some legos, after many tries and help from Mom, up to the ceiling. Then the boys knocked it down. My parents stayed for about an hour. After dinner the boys played with legos. They like to build planes to fly around the house. They had fun playing with fishing poles during bathtime. We tucked them in bed by 9pm. Jared and I made popcorn and watch I Love Lucy.

The boys were up around 8:30. Adam woke up with a very messy pull-up. When I walked in his room he said, “I poopy. I wanna go on the potty.” We watched the tractor video during breakfast. Then we played with the lite brite and made a helicopter. Adam made a car using the wheel barrel and a couple chairs. He then asked if we wanted to go to Grandpa’s house. When we said yes he said, “Then come. Just come. Lets go to Grandpa’s.” Shortly before 11:00 we headed to a nearby park. The boys had fun playing on the playground there. After a while Jacob saw a couple bee’s and said he was ready to leave. We got out the cooler and sat at the picnic table to eat our lunch. From there we drove a little ways to an outdoor hockey area. The boys had a great time riding their bikes around in there. They found some sticks and used them to pretend they were filling their bikes with gas. Before going home we stopped at Goodwill. As Adam walked around he kept pointing at clothes saying, “See this brown (or other color) one. I like this. Dat my fab-wite.” We got home around 2pm. After a snack and reading the boys asked if they could draw with markers. They did that for a little while before taking a nap/rest. Adam napped until 5:30. Jacob rested while playing with the lite brite. I did a 30 min run. Then Jacob asked me to make a dump truck on the lite brite so I did that. Jacob got out his Bruder vehicles and dominos to play with. Hailey called me and we talked on the phone for a little while. After talking to me she asked to talk to Jacob. She’s such a sweetie and fun to talk to. I was unloading the dish washer when Jacob came over and put away all the silverware for me (without my asking). Daddy and I were playing with the boys when they ran into each other with their heads. Adam got it right in the nose and it bled. I comforted Adam while Daddy checked on Jacob. Jacob was very concerned for Adam and just wanted to hurry and get a damp paper towel for his brother. Adam asked to watch "Fifford (Clifford)" so we put that in. I rocked both boys while we watched some of it. This evening we went out to Fazoli’s for dinner. Then we went to the mall to walk around. Took the boys to play on the train table at Barnes and Noble. Adam used the potty there 3 times. This was his first time using a public potty (or even a big potty) so he was a little nervous about it (we always bring the frog potty in the van). He sure was excited after each time he went and ran to tell Daddy. We got home around 9pm.

Checking out a bug.

Jacob is adding oil to the weed wacker.

The boys were up just after I finished my am exercises. We watched Clifford during breakfast. Then the boys did some drawing with marker. They also drew on the boxes from the backpack and shoes. While I vacuumed the boys played with their matchbox cars on mats in the kitchen. Jacob made a house that we had fun pretending in. Adam's bed was in the clothes basket. Jacob put a nightlight (matchbox car) in our rooms. After lunch the boys played with the playmats. Adam leaned some up by the couch and said it was his car. He said, “Mommy, you wanna come in my car? Then come on in.” Jacob put mats around the little table (tipped) for his car. We went outside to play in leaves. Jacob and Adam found some sticks and pretended they were weed wackers. Jacob said the water in his bottle was oil. He loved adding “oil” to their weed wackers. Adam kept asking Jacob for more oil. We had to go to the store and buy more oil (refill the water bottle.) We went back inside at 2:30 for a snack. As we sat down to read Adam said, “I wanna read, Wild Things Are.” I lay Adam down for a nap and Jacob rested while playing with the lite brite. I did a 30 min run and then sat at the little table with Jacob. We made a hot air balloon, flower, grass, and a cloud on the lite brite. Jacob ran around with the shoebox and said it was his motor. He used a lite brite peg to add oil to his motor. Daddy got home from work as we were heading outside. After a little while we came inside to make dinner. Adam was awake by that time. We made taco’s for dinner. Koolaide came with the taco kit so the boys helped me make that and enjoyed some. After dinner the boys had a fun time playing with Daddy until his class started. We watched a Baby Einstein video and then played with playdoh until pj time. Both boys asked me to make playdoh jeeps and people for them. They had fun adding things to their jeeps and pretending with them. The boys were tucked in bed around 9:30.
