Jacob thought it was funny when Adam put a stick with leaves in his bicycle tire.

I got up at 6:00. Adam slept in until 9am. He said, "Jacob's awake." I let him know he was still asleep so he quietly went in to check on him. Then he and I cuddled for awhile. He talked to me about his time outside with Nana and Papa. Jacob woke up at 9:30. We ate breakfast and watched the Clifford movie that we'd rented. Jacob really enjoyed the movie. Adam enjoyed it too but also played during it. We went outside and I picked some veggies from the garden. Then I cut up beans while sitting in the fort with the boys. Then the boys pretended I was a car as I sat with my knees bent. When the car broke down, they’d lift my arms (the hood) and fix the engine (under my legs). We came inside for lunch. After lunch the boys sat at the counter and drew with markers. They also cut and glued papers. I blanched the green beans and got those in the freezer. At 2:30 we read books and I tucked Adam in for a nap. Jacob also lay quietly in bed for an hour. I did a 1 hr run. Then Jacob and I played the construction computer game. We played that until Jared got home around 5:30. Adam woke up just before he got here. We all went outside on the deck for a little while. After dinner we headed over to a nearby school. The boys had a great time riding bikes and playing on the playground. We got home at 8:30. Adam got 3 stickers on his chart today (he had 2 pee accidents but also had diarrhea today). The boys were tucked in bed shortly after 9pm.

6th year Anniversary

Happy Birthday to Papa.

Singing.

Last night I stayed up later to do my morning exercises so I could sleep in with Jared on our anniversary. Jacob crawled in our bed around 7:30am. He was asking to play the construction game right away. Jared and I got each other a new bath towel for our anniversary. While Daddy was in the shower I helped Jacob start the construction game. He played that until breakfast. Adam woke up around 8:30. We left at 9:45 and headed over to my parents church. This Sunday my Dad was preaching – awesome message Dad! Adam started crying, “I wanna go to the car” when he thought it was time to go back for Sunday school. I took him into the nursing room to calm him and assured him that I wasn’t going to leave him. Jacob didn't want to go back either and both boys sat with us during the service. After church we stopped at meijer for a couple thing and then headed over to Mom’s house. Mom made chili for lunch and it was very yummy. We had cake and ice cream to celebrate Dad and Rody’s birthday. Mom also made me an angel food cake (my favorite) and had strawberries to go on top – thanks Mom! The kids all had fun playing together. Around 3:30 I lay down with Adam for a nap. Jared and Dad played some ping-pong and the kids had fun playing downstairs. Adam never did go to sleep. After awhile I took him downstairs to play. Around 6:00 Jared and I left to go out for our anniversary. The boys stayed with Nana and Papa. First we went to meijer to find anniversary cards to give to each other. One of the cards Jared and I picked out was the same. It sure was different walking around the store without the boys. Then we went to blockbuster to get a movie. We went out to dinner at Pi’s, a Chinese restaurant. Jared and I shared a Sesame chicken dinner which was very good. It was around 8:30 when we got back to Mom’s house. The boys were watching a Baby Einstein video. Both boys fell asleep on the drive home. After tucking them in bed Jared and I made popcorn and watched the movie, Marley and Me. It was a very funny movie (especially since we have Truman) and we had lot of great laughs during it.

Jared had to work until noon today. I got up at 6am. Jacob was up around 8:30 and cuddled in bed with me for a little while. Adam woke up at 9:00. Jacob told me he decorated for a party and he asked me if I wanted to see his decorations. There were fish puzzle pieces lined up on the floor and a paper drawing tucked into the couch. He had the little table set and invited me to eat chicken salad. Adam had me sit on a play mat saying there were going to be “thunderworks.” Jacob sat with us to watch those. During breakfast we watched the tractor video. The boys played with the foam blocks for a little while. Adam lined up the little chairs and asked me to sit down, saying we were going to the fair. Jacob added a couple ride on toys so he could join us on our drive. Jacob and I had fun doing the hokey pokey song. I pretended to be a doctor and the boys took turns being my patient. They'd say, "Uh oh, I fell again" and then tell me where they were hurt. We went outside to go for a walk. Our walk didn’t get very far because the boys got distracted by the puddles. There was a deeper puddle on the road by our driveway that they had fun playing in. Adam asked me, "You wanna come in the puddle and sit down?" They also liked playing with rocks in the mud of the nearly dry puddles. Jacob asked if they could fish in the puddle. They had fun using their fishing poles with the practice fish anchors. We came back inside around 11:30. After lunch we headed into town to meet Jared at Dunken Donuts. We ate our donuts inside today. Jared went to a car sale while the boys and I went to Salvation Army. I found some maternity clothes there. Jared met us at the store. We got home around 2:30. Adam fell asleep in the car and continued sleeping in his crib until ~5:30. Jacob loves to highlight words on paper with his yellow markers. I gave him some junk mail to highlight while he rested. Then Daddy did some drawings and Jacob enjoyed coloring those. Adam was fussy this evening. He didn’t eat anything for dinner and cried as he sat at the table. He wanted to cuddle on the couch so I put in a Clifford video for us to watch. The boys were excited when Aunt “Bippi” pulled in the driveway. She brought over a Tonka construction computer game for Jacob. He loved it and played until bath time. The boys played in the tub for a long time. They were tucked in bed by 9:30.

Adam talking to Grandpa.
Train ride.

I got up at 6am. Jacob was up shortly before 8:00 soon followed by Adam. After breakfast we watched a Clifford video. Then the boys played with automoblox on the car mat. We went outside for a little while. Jacob helped me pick veggies from the garden. While we were feeding carrots to the horses we saw 3 Chinook helicopters flying over our neighbor’s property. We came in and the boys drew on paper using markers. Then they went back to playing with the automoblox. While watching the Raffi video the boys played their instruments. After lunch the Jacob and Adam made a house. They put toys and cars around to make the walls of their house. Adam asked, “You wanna come in my house?” As the boys rode around on their cars Jacob would say, “Red light (they'd stop) or Green light (they'd go).” I made a tent for the boys in Adam’s crib. They pretended I was locking them in jail. We called Papa and the boys helped me sing Happy Birthday to him. Shortly after 2:00 we read books and I tucked Adam in for a nap. Jacob and I played in his bedroom and then I did my 30 min run. We went outside for a little while. It was a rainy evening. Jared got home around 4:30. He had us laughing as he walked around with the tunnel over his head. He was “eating” things and then spitting them back out. Adam woke up and joined in on the fun. He kept begging for Daddy to get him over and over. The boys got out the foam blocks to play with until dinner was ready. After dinner Jared played some Mario Kart. Jacob typed on the computer. He likes to change the color and always reads to me what it is he's typed. Much of the evening was spent playing with playdoh or foam blocks and little people. Adam stuck the Stars hockey stick in the couch and pretended it was the stick shift in his car as we drove to the fair. He did great on the potty today and only had 2 accidents (he got 6 stickers on his chart). Daddy had the boys laughing as he used the Grover puppet. The boys were tucked in bed shortly after 9:00. Jacob wanted to sleep with his friends (Sock and Grover puppet.)

Singing.

"Put your arms up Daddy."

I got up at 6am to do my am exercises. Jacob woke up at 7:00 but lay in bed until ~8am. I peeked in Adam’s bedroom and he was sitting quietly in his crib. He wanted to sit on the potty first thing this morning but asked me to go hide (leave the room). He sat there until I had their breakfast ready. We watched the tractor video during breakfast. The boys played with the playskool soft cars this morning. Adam peeded on the potty and after he finished he said, “I wanna tell Daddy when him gets home from work. I peed again.” We called Daddy so he could tell him over the phone. I worked on laundry. Jacob folded all my dishtowels and dishcloths and then he put them away. Around 11:30 we headed into town. We stopped at Goodwill and Salvation Army. Adam used his potty in the van while we were out. Jacob rubbed my belly and said, “I think he’s growing. Your belly’s bumped out.” The boys ate a packed lunch of sandwiches and crackers. We then headed over to meijer for some groceries. Got home shortly after 2pm. I put away the groceries and then tucked Adam in for a nap. Jacob rested while watching a Clifford video. I did a 30 min run. Then Jacob played with playdoh while I made chili for dinner. Adam woke up and also played with some playdoh. Jared got home around 5:30. We also had corn on the cob with our dinner. This evening Jared had to go online for his class orientation. Next week he will be starting classes, which are in the evenings on Wed and Thurs. The boys and I sat at the table with my sewing box and some yarn. Jacob helped me make a sock puppet. Both boys loved cutting up yarn and playing with the buttons. Jacob loves his new puppet and wanted to sleep with it tonight. Adam got 4 stickers on his potty chart and also had several accidents today. He sure likes me to go in another room while he sits on the potty. Then he runs to tell me saying, "I peed!"

I got up at 6:00 and the boys were up at 8:00. We went outside to feed Sammy some grain. The boys wanted to go in the puddle so we went inside to put their water boots on. Jacob liked finding rocks in the puddle. Adam stuck his head in the puddle and then knelt down in it. As he splashed he said, “I’m splashin in the mud puddle.” Jacob said he didn’t want to get the stickers on his shirt wet. We brought some rocks in the house for the boys to paint later. After breakfast Jacob helped me build a house with the playmat’s. Adam played with the bowling pins. Around 10:30 we headed over to a school near us and the boys had fun playing on their playground. Then we got out the bikes so they could ride around in the basketball area. They especially loved riding thru the puddles. Adam did really good pedaling on his bike but sometime would say, “I need a push, then let me go.” Jacob rode round and round but sometimes would have to stop saying he blew a tire on a rock. After some time there we headed over to Jacob’s preschool. Jacob liked seeing their playground and we played there for a little while. We got home around 12:30. After lunch the boys had a great time painting. They painted their rocks and also painted on some paper. Adam kept asking for more blue paint saying, “Blue my fabbit (favorite).” Adam put some paint on each of his rocks but mostly enjoyed painting on paper. Jacob painted his rocks very carefully. I then gave Adam some finger paint and he had fun with that. After cleaning Adam up he went into Jacob bedroom but soon came out saying, “I peeing. I peed in Jacob’s room.” I had him go sit on the potty and as he ran to it he said, “I can do it.” There was only a little pee on the floor and as I was cleaning it up Adam ran to me saying, “I all done.” I looked in his potty and he had peed in it. He was very excited to get his stickers (one for the chart and the other for him). Then he ran back to the potty saying, “I wann do that again.” Around 3:30 we read books and then I tucked Adam in for a nap. Jacob rested while playing with foam blocks and his trucks. I did a 30 min run. Jacob sent me mail (his drawings) under his bedroom door. Then I sent notes and drawings back to him. Jared got home around 5pm. Jacob played with playdoh until dinner was ready. Adam woke up around 5:30 and also played with playdoh. We had some corn on the cob from our garden with our dinner this evening. It was very good. Shortly after dinner I had Adam sit on the potty. He asked me to go in another room. I peeked at him as he sat there on the potty, looking at his book. He stood up, looked in the potty, and said, “I peed!” The boys played with the cash register. Adam started peeing and came to me saying, “I peeing.” He finished on the potty. This evening he used the potty a few more time and didn’t have any more accidents. We all went outside and watched Daddy change the oil on the Vibe. He found a salamander and gave it to the boys. Jacob put it in a bucket and they took turns carrying it. They sure enjoyed watching what Daddy was doing on the car. Then they picked apples and fed them to the horses. As they picked Adam said, “I a farmer.” Jacob picked some carrots and fed them to the horses. Adam put cut grass in the wheel barrel and as he pushed it around he said, “I a hay baler.” It was pj time when we came back inside. After the boys were in their pj's we had fun playing in the dark in Adam's bedroom for a little while. We sure got lots of giggles from the boys. Jacob is getting good at singing the song, “I’ve been working on the railroad” with me. Adam sings some parts in the song too.
