Great Sand Bay

Eating goodies by Jacob's Falls.

Pretending to eat food (leaves).

Hotdogs over the fire.

"Pebble beach"

Jared and I were up ~8am. Soon Jacob was up too. As we walked past Grandma and Grandpa's site Jacob ran over to see them. When Grandma asked him if he wanted pancakes for breakfast - she got a quick "yes!" We woke Adam up around 8:45. Jacob told him, "Were gonna have Grandma's pancakes for breakfast. Grandma's is the best!" After breakfast we took a walk around the campground, Jacob stayed with Grandma. Then we took another walk around and Jacob rode his bike. We headed over to the Great Sand Bay around 10:00. As we drove over the hills Adam said, "Dat tickles your belly? Dat tickles my belly." It was chilly by the beach (65 and windy). Jared said, you only where a flannel to the beach in Copper Harbor. The water was really cold but the boys didn't mind. Jacob helped Daddy work on changing the direction of the stream. The boys had fun going down the big sandhill. We stayed for about 2 hrs. For lunch we made pb&j sandwiches and ate them in the van. We also visited the Jampot. After getting some snacks we took the short hike up to Jacob's Falls. We sat there and ate our goodies. On the drive back I fell asleep. All the hills and curbs sure make me sleepy. When I woke up we were on top Brockway Mt. We got out to walk around. The view is so beautiful. Adam fell asleep on the drive down the Mt. We stopped to visit at Dennis's shop. Grandma and Grandpa were there too. We got back to camp around 3pm. Jared started a fire. The boys played in the little woods on our site and pretended it was their house. They picked some leaves to pretend was their food. We took a walk and Jacob rode hims bike. The boys asked to play at Grandma's site. After dinner we took the canoe on Lake Fanny Hoe. This time we paddled to the other side of the lake. After we got back Jacob said, "I wanna do that all the time!" We took a walk to Pebble beach and the Fort. Grandma and Grandpa came over this evening and we made smores. We were in bed by 10:45.

OK -- how about a little map of where your site is and where Grandma and Grandpa's site is? How far apart are they? Are there other sites in between? How many other campers are there? How many do you know from past years?

As I was reading, I was picturing everything. I love the pictures of Jacob and Adam running down the hill. The one of Jacob and Truman on Brockway mt. is beautiful. Love Jacob's smile in that last one. I actually love them all. So much fun there. Love you!!!

The pictures are just great! I wish I could feel the lake breeze. Now it's the hot fan breeze. Oh, well...there's next year. Wasn't the weather just perfect. Dee...there were two campsites between us. There were lots of campers on certain days. The camp sites have trees all around them so it doesn't feel that we're stacked on top of each other. It's just a super place.
