Fun on the stone boat.
Setting up camp.
"Pebble beach"
Jared and I were up at 2:30. We did some last minute things and then got the boys up. As Daddy carried Jacob to the van he said, "Guess who's in here (thinking Truman)?" Jacob saw Berry (his favorite bear)in his car seat and said, "Berry!" Adam slept some but the boys were mostly awake until we got to the Machinaw Bridge around 6am. They ate a pop tart for breakfast. During our drive in the UP the boys slept for a little over 3 hrs. I rested/slept for a couple hours and then took over driving so Jared could get some rest. I drove until we got to the Hilltop restaurant in Lance. We went inside and ordered a sweet roll. It was very busy inside so we took ours to go and ate it in the van. We got out to stretch in Kersarge and the boys had fun on the stone boat. As we got near Copper Harbor the boys sang a Copper Harbor song. We arrived in Copper Harbor around 1pm. The boys did great on the car ride and never complained the entire trip. We got to our site and set up the dining fly. Then we made some sandwiches for lunch. After setting up camp we took a walk over to "Pebble beach". The boys had fun throwing rocks in the water and playing in the black sand. Adam got wet feet pretty quickly. The weather was 55 degrees and cloudy. We took a walk on the trail and found some blueberries. We then took a walk over to the Fort and the playground. We were surprised to see Grandma as we were leaving. The boys ran to give her a hug. Grandpa met us over at the Fort. While we were visiting it started to sprinkle. We went back to camp to put tarps around the dining fly. It started raining a little harder. Grandma and Grandpa went back to their motel. We ate sandwiches and pretzels for dinner. The boys drew with markers while Jared and I played a couple games of dice. Adam also kept my lap warm as we played. We took a short walk while it was still sprinkling. Jacob rode his bike. We went to bed around 8:30. All of us were very tired. It rained alot during the night.
