Day 2

Eagle River












Ice cream time.


Jared and I got up at 8:00, soon followed by Jacob and then Adam. While we ate breakfast Jacob fell off the picnic table and hit his mouth hard. As Daddy was comforting him Adam gave him hugs. We took a drive to the motel to visit Grandma and Grandpa but they were gone. Then we took a drive along Lake Superior. Jacob complained that his teeth hurt from his fall and Adam said, "Jacob needs a go see the doctor." We got out at the Eagle River beach. It was lightly sprinkling when we got there but soon stopped. The boys used sticks to draw in the sand. Jacob would draw circles around us and say that we were stuck in a house. Then he'd add a door so we could get out. We all had a nice time there. We headed back to camp around 12:00. On the way we stopped to visit Dennis and Leslie and the shop. We set aside some mugs we really liked. We got back to camp and ate a late lunch. We visited with Grandma and Grandpa at their site. Grandma blew bubbles with Jacob. The boys had fun playing with Grandma's tractors. Jared and I looked at Grandma's pictures from Kenya on her camera. When people say hi to Adam he tells us, "Him nice" or "They nice." We took our canoe out on Lake Fanny Hoe. It was pretty windy. We paddled against the wind to one side of the lake. We saw some ducks and geese. On the way back we didn't need to do much paddling. The boys took turns sitting by Daddy or I. We got back around 5:30 and took a walk around the campground. Jacob wanted to stay with Grandma. They soon met up with us and Jacob was riding his bike. The boys played at camp while we got dinner ready. Jared and I played a game of dice. After dinner Jared chopped some wood that we found while I did the dishes. We went out for ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa. The boys wanted "green ice cream (mint choc chip)." They sure had fun playing on the ice cream truck. Jacob was climbing and hanging on the bars. Adam said, "I am dan-ger-us." We got back and took a walk over to Pebble beach. After getting the boys dressed for bed we took a walk around the campground. We were in bed by 10pm.
