Day 8

It started raining ~5:30am. Jared realized that we'd left the video camera charging outside so he hurried to get that. It rained hard for awhile. We slept in until 9:00. After breakfast we took a walk around the campground and found some more firewood. We were visiting with Grandma and Grandpa when it started raining. We hurried down to put up our tarps. The we all decided it was a good day to go to Calumet. We walked around a couple art galleries before going over to eat lunch at the Evergreen. Then we found out that the Evergreen had been shut down last fall by the health department. We chose a different restraunt to eat at. The boys were well behaved at the restraunt so the waitress gave them each a quarter. We walked thru some shops in town and also visited the restored catholic church. At one store we bought some salt water taffy. It was a very windy day. Before going back to camp we also went to the grocery store. Both boys fell asleep on the drive back. We visited at Dennis's shop until they closed. Jacob continued sleeping in the van. Then we went over to watch the Isle Royale boat come in. Grandma and Grandpa also came. We got back to camp around 7:00. The boys ate some mac-n-cheese for dinner. We took a walk over to the East campground and then went to the playground. Jacob loved climbing to the upper level using the rock wall. Adam really enjoyed the slides. Grandma and Grandpa came to our site for a visit. Then we took a walk around the campground with Grandma. We were in bed by 10:00.
