Sawdust Day's parade
Jared being put in jail.
I was very surprised to hear the gun shot fire while I was doing my am exercises. I looked outside to see Jared, in bare feet, looking at a dead fox. Jacob was already awake and Adam yelled, “I awake!” We all went outside to check out the fox. After going out for Sat am drinks and donuts we headed over to Sawdust Days, which is in the town I grew up in. At 10:30 the parade started. They tossed lots of candy. If Jacob picked up two pieces of candy and Adam didn’t get any he’d hand him a piece all on his own. Vikki and Kenzie met us there after the parade was done. We walked to a park where the activities took place. Kenzie had Uncle Jared arrested. Adam wanted to go in the jail with Daddy for part of the time. Jared was sliding a stick across the bars saying, “I’m innocent!” He also tried to make plans another on climbing out. They kept him in there for about 5 min. We walked over to check out the cars at the auto show. They also had remote control boats and cars that the boys liked watching. Jacob asked to drive one so he and Daddy had fun doing that a couple times.. We stopped at a few garage sales on our walk back. We left around 1:30 and the boys ate a packed lunch in the van. We headed over to Grandpa’s house to visit. Jared brought the fox to show him. He asked Jared if he wanted help skinning it so they worked on that. The boys had fun playing with Grandpa’s toys and we also took a walk in the yard. Got to Mom’s house around 5pm where we quickly ate dinner – thank-you Mom! We then drove to the fairgrounds to watch the hot air balloons launch. Nana and Papa came too. Those were really fun to watch. There were also many balloons that came from another area and flew right over us. Mel and her family soon were there also. The kids were excited to see each other and had fun time playing together. We got to watch skydivers jump from a plane and land. We visited together and waited until dusk to watch the after glow. Got home shortly after 9pm.

I've heard of skin the cat which I know someone that did...So sorry Dust Bunny for mentioning that. So...now it's skin the fox. Next it will be nailing it to the barn wall.
In Senegal I watched the skinning of goats on several occasions. They would cut a hole in one of the hind legs, and then blow through that hole to get air between the skin and the muscles. It took some effort to do, but once the skin was all puffed up away from the muscle tissues, it was a lot easier to skin. Did you do this with the fox?
I now know that it is son-out-law. The picture proves it.
We sure had a fun time with you guys. Thanks for letting us know about it. Bob and Jan want to go next year. She was sorry she missed it when I told her in church. Nice pictures of sawdust days. Kenzie looks way to old when she's sitting in that cool car. Beautiful picture!
That last picture is so neat with all the balloons lit up. We had a great time too. Sawdust Days looks fun. I have such great memories of going to that when we were little. We'll have to go with you guys next year.
I think the air under the skin would of been worth a shot. And with the modern air compressor I think it would of worked well. Also I would avoid hyper ventilating. For some reason fox skins aren't made to come off easily. I was whooped.
