Jacob's 5yr birthday!!!

Talking to Nana

For many pictures Jacob would say, "You need to put that on your puter (blog)."

Jacob woke up at 7am. We sang Happy Birthday to him as he walked out to see his decorations and cake. He rode around the house on his new scooter. Soon Adam was awake too. Then Jacob opened his birthday presents. He got a fire station, matchbox car, extra firemen and tools, and a new toothbrush. While Jacob played with his new things Adam rode around on his scooter. The propane truck came by to fill our tank and said we had a leak. The boys watched him from our bedroom window. Jacob talked on the phone to Nana and also Aunt Bippi. Around 9:30 we headed into town to meet Nana and Papa for drinks and donuts at Tim Horton’s. Back at home I worked on packing for our day outing. Jacob and Adam played with the new fire station. Then we rebuilt Jacob's fire station into one of the other ways pictured on the instructions. Around 1:30 we headed over to a nearby park for a picnic and swimming. The boys had a really great time playing in the lake and also had fun at the spray park. Jacob and Adam made a stream with water in the sand. They would lay on their belly's in the water and say they were crawldad's. Eli was content laying in the shade under the umbrella. After a few hours we dried off and got drinks. The boys enjoyed snowcones. It was a very warm day, sunny and mid 90’s. From there we headed over to the rail trail so the boys could try out their new scooter. Jacob is getting better at balancing so he can coast along. On the drive home there was a turtle crossing the road. Jared got out to help it across but first showed it to the boys. We got home around 6:30. After dinner and cake and ice cream we watched the movie Jungle Book 2. The boys played with the fire station until pj time. After getting into their pj’s they ran around the house with the balloons. Today Jacob kept saying, "I can't believe I'm 5 years old!" Wow, five years ago we held our first son! The boys were excited to talk about their day at bedtime. They were tucked in bed around 9:30 and fell asleep very quickly.

Wow! So many exciting things to see and to read about! I can't believe that Jacob is 5. But, then when I look at his pictures I realize he is a really big boy -- and then I am not so surprised. He looks as if he is at least 5.

Eli and Adam both appeared to be enjoying the day, too -- each in his own way.

Kimmy...it was six years ago that you held your first baby...You know...Jacob started with the age of zero. The birthday seemed to be a huge successful day with LOTS of fun stuff. Go. Jacob...You are one big kid. Love you all.
