(Days 4 and 5)

Tuesday 7-27-10 (Day 4)

Eagle River

Jacob lost his first tooth on Brockway Mt.

Making hot dogs

Adam used his hand to spoon the ice cream into his mouth.

We were up at 8:30. Eli sat in Grandma's jumperoo during breakfast. Andrew came over to play with the boys. We took a walk around the campground. Around 11:00 we left to go to Eagle River. The boys enjoyed playing in the stream and also had fun in the lake. Eli was content to sleep in the carrier. Around 2:30 we ate a late lunch before heading back to camp. On the way back we drove up Brockway Mt. Jacob showed us at the top that he'd lost his first tooth. Yesterday he'd complained of a "bump" on his tooth but we didn't think much of it. He said he'd dropped it in his seat but I searched and couldn't find it. While walking around on the mountain Jacob wanted to show people his missing tooth. Back at camp it started raining so we put up the tarps on the dining fly. Then we went to sit at Grandma's place. Rain was draining off their dining fly and Adam stuck his head right under it. Eli continued to sleep in the tent during the storm. We took a short walk around the campground while Jacob, Adam, and Andrew rode their bikes. Grandma came for a walk too. Andrew played at our site until dinnertime. We went out for ice cream this evening. Adam was scooping ice cream out of the cone using his hand as a spoon.

Wednesday 7-28-10 (Day 5)

Throwing the sticky things on scooby doo, a game Jared made up and the boys liked.

Silly boys

We were up around 7:30. Jacob was very excited to find a golden dollar and a note from the tooth fairy under his pillow this morning. After he was dressed he put them in his pocket so he could show them to his "best friend Andrew." After breakfast we took a walk around the campground and stopped to play at the playground. We then took a walk over to Pebble beach and saw some bear poop on the trail. The were lots of waves as it was very windy outside. The boys wore swim trunks but neither one wanted to go in the water today. Truman got to go for a swim. We hiked along the beach and then went into the woods to find a letterbox. As we hiked through the woods we saw Kat, Eric and the boys. We stopped to pick blueberries. Jacob picked a handful to carry back for Grandma and Grandpa. He dropped a few here and there as we walked and there weren't any left in his hand when we got back to our site. Eli was content in the carrier. The boys had fun playing at the Fort playground. We also stopped at the Fort store for ice. There the boys got orange sherbert pushups which they enjoyed eating as we walked back to our site. Jacob and Adam stayed with Grandma and Grandma while we went into town to get pottery from Dennis's shop. Jacob, Adam, and Andrew played hide and seek at Grandma and Grandpa's site. Andrew and Adam stood on a tree stump, covered their eyes and both started counting. We laughed because no one was hiding (Jacob had left to go potty). Jared and I made foil dinners to have for the next few dinners. Jacob, Adam, and Andrew played together and pretended their fly swatters were guitars. After dinner we took a walk around the campground. This evening we made smores. Andrew came over and tried one too. We took another walk around the campground. The boys had fun in the shower together. They drew with markers before going to bed. We were in bed around 10pm.
