Sunday 7-25-10 (Day 2)

"Tickets please"

We were all up around 7:30am. Adam kept saying, "Hi dude" to Eli. Grandma and Grandpa came over to visit while waiting for their site to become available. After a while Uncle Eric, Andrew, and Noah also came over. The boys had fun playing with toys in the the sand filled ring around the firepit. After lunch Jared went over to help his Dad set up their tent. Andrew asked Jacob and Adam if they wanted to go on a scavenger hunt and look for treasures. They found lots of rocks. We took a walk over to Pebble beach. On the way we saw a deer in the woods. It looked at us and then continued eating. Jacob brought a pringle can to the beach to use for collecting things. We'd told him that he'd have to carry it back if he brought it. As we walked back he tried throwing it on the ground. We had him pick it back up and continued walking. As we headed to the fort we noticed he didn't have the can anymore. When we asked him where it was he said he didn't know. He'd thrown it in some bushes but we couldn't find it. He was very unhappy that we now couldn't go to the fort and he had to pick up all the trash on the walk back to our site. The rest of the trip he was very aware of litter and often pointed it out saying, "Look, someone littered. That doesn't look good." Many times he even picked up trash on his own to throw away. We took a walk around the campground while Jacob, Adam, and Andrew rode their bikes. During this 2 week camping trip, if we took a walk around the campground, Jacob and Adam almost always rode their bikes. Eli took a nap and the boys and Andrew played until dinnertime. Grandma also came over to visit. After dinner the boys drew on the road with sidewalk chalk. We took them to the new dock to do some fishing. This evening we made smores. Grandma and Grandpa came over for awhile.

Ask Doug about the matches after we were caught playing with them behind the garage. (I'm sure that has come up in more than one conversation over the years) Just thought of that as the beach was cleaned on the way back from the fort
