At 10:45 we headed from the park where we were fishing to the park where we were going to have our cookout. Adam helped Vikki and I get things set up. Jacob and Kenzie went to play on the playground. Grandpa and Jared had fun playing washers. Then we took Adam over to play at the playground. He gave me a push and I slide down the high tube slide. I went fast and landed on my butt in the dirt at the bottom. Jacob was excited to see all the cupcakes and the decorated table for his birthday. While Rody and Jared grilled hotdogs, Vikki, Kenzie and I played a game of washers. We were not very good at the game, but we still had a lot of fun. Your suppose to play up to a score of 21 but we decided to play to 10. It took us long enough to get that high. Kenzie won. My score was 3 and Vikki's was 7. Throwing is not something I'm good at (just ask Jared). Grandpa watched us and gave us tips. When the guys told us lunch was ready we realized that we hadn't brought any silverware. Vikki went to get some from Mom and Dad's house (they live just around the corner from this park.) During dinner lately the boys liked to get down and give out hugs. During this lunch they went around the table and gave everyone hugs. Then Kenzie had Jacob put an ice pack on Uncle Rody's back. He did it to Daddy and Mommy too. After lunch we opened up the cupcakes and Kenzie put 4 candles in one for Jacob. It was a windy day so the candles were hard to light. Daddy blocked the wind with his hand. We all sang Happy Birthday to Jacob and then he blew out his candles. After a little while it was time for Jacob to open his presents from Uncle Rody, Aunt Vikki, and Kenzie. First he opened a Cars ice pack from Kenzie. He also opened a John Deere scraper, child's rolling pin, his card (with $4), a matchbox cement truck, a book, some very large drawing paper, and a Bruder backhoe. He was SOOOO much fun to watch open his gifts and was excited about everything he got, even the card (and especially when he saw the money in it). Right away he wanted to take the backhoe in the sand to play with. Aunt Vikki, Rody, and Kenzie also got Adam a cement truck, some large paper, and some magnetic words. We played in the sand for awhile. Grandpa and Jared played another game of washers. Then Kenzie played the game with Uncle Jared. Kenzie and Jacob had some more fun playing at the playground. Vikki and I spread out blankets in the shade as we watched Jared and Grandpa play washers. The boys spread out their blankets by us and played with their toys on them. Rody had left for a little bit and came back with a desk for the boys that he'd just picked up at a garage sale. The boys liked playing in the back of Rody's truck and also had fun sitting inside his truck. Shortly after 3pm we headed home. Both boys fell asleep on the drive. We stopped at meijer for a couple thing on the way. When we got home the boys lay on the couches while we unloaded the van and put things away. Jacob had fun playing with all his new things this evening. He was sad when he realized that he'd left his scraper in Vikki's car and asked if we could go get it. He played at the counter with flour, his new rolling pin, and some cars. I re-arranged Jacob's bedroom to fit the desk. We filled the draw with some fun things. Then Jacob had fun coloring on a large paper with some markers while sitting at the desk. Adam played with flour for a while. Then Jacob wanted to try using his backhoe in the flour. The boys also had fun with the magnetic words. Jacob would put words together and then have me read his funny sentance. Jared and I were too full for dinner but they boys ate pizza. I did two 30 min runs. Then Daddy took Jacob outside while Adam played in the bathtub. Adam wasn't too sure about taking a bath without Jacob. I thought he'd love all the extra space but he cried and asked for "him in here." He can say Jacob (says "Jay-ubb") but usually just says "him" instead. I gave him the boat shape sorter and he had a great time playing with that. He also liked to "paint" with the foam soap. Adam got out to play with Daddy when it was Jacob's turn. Jacob was excited about his bath and said, "Mommy, thanks for letting me take a bath and not washing my hair." Jacob had fun filling all his containers with water and foam soap. He pretended the washcloth was a cake as he decorated it with foam soap. He'd sing Happy Birthday to me and then we'd eat cake. Daddy took Adam outside and he helped his put Jacob's tractor in the barn. He was excited to tell me about it when he came in. The boys were tucked in bed shortly after 9:00. After Jacob was asleep Jared and I decorated the kitchen for Jacob's birthday.

Adam smiling with the cake crumbs around his mouth is another winner!

Jacob is SO LUCKY! He seems to be getting birthday celebrations day after day!
