Planting the garden. Jacob posing for the camera.

I got up at 6am to exercise. Jacob woke up at 8am and we cuddled in bed for a little while. Adam was awake by 8:30. The boys had fun playing with the kitchen, coffee maker, and dishes. They watched a fire truck video while eating breakfast. Around 10am we went outside. The boys went right to playing in the garden. Jacob dug with the shovel to fill the wheel barrel and Adam played with the Bruder truck. Jacob went to dig by Adam and then he laughed as he told me, “Adam said, hi sir.” Adam found a worm and showed it to me saying, “I pine worm!” He carried it around until Jacob talked him into putting it in the wheel barrel dirt. The boys took turns playing with the new toys. They also brought their tractor and carts in the garden. We were outside for a little over 2 hours and the boys spent most of that time in the garden. Jacob also enjoyed being pushed on the swing. Before going back inside we took the Bruder truck over to be sprayed off with the hose. The boys took turns spraying it. Then they wanted to spray off the other toys that were used in the garden. They also liked spraying the molehills. I had to laugh when they both got wet trying to get drinks from the hose. Inside the boys played with the balloons until I got their lunch ready. After lunch they each ate a small piece of cake. Jacob finished eating his cake first and yelled, “I beat!” Adam said, “No, I first winner. I beat too.” After lunch the boys worked on their make-your-own books. Then they played with playdoh. Jacob used the play pot and said he was making chicken fried rice. I tucked Adam in for a nap at 2:30. Jacob played with the Bruder truck in his bedroom and his cars. He made up some cute songs and sang them for me. I did a 30 min run. Then Jacob and I had fun playing at the counter with flour, a tractor, and some cars. As Jacob brushed all the flour into a pile he said, “I’m gonna make a fine lookin pile.” We then went out on the deck with the dogs. Jared and Kenzie got home around 5:30. Kenzie brought some chickens back on the deck. Jared worked on tilling the garden until dinner was ready. Kenzie and Jacob played on the fort. Adam woke up just before dinner was ready. After dinner we headed over to a nearby greenhouse to get some things for our garden and flowers for our pots. Kenzie stayed home to do her homework. When we got back we planted the garden. Kenzie and Jacob were good helpers with the garden. Adam also helped some. He liked putting in the seeds and then would cover them with dirt. Adam had more fun playing on the tractor. Jacob fell into the sandpit, which has very stinky mud on the bottom. I took him inside and gave him a quick shower before bed. The kids were tucked in bed by 9:30.

When will you plant an asparagus patch?

Where will the tomatoes go? And what about zucchini and eggplant?

Where are the Brussels sprouts?

Lettuce?
