Jacob opening his birthday gifts.

Adam's cake.

Opening presents.

Jacob beat him to blowing them out.
Adam liked blowing out his candles.

Nana and Grandma trying to get the kite to stay in the air.

Jacob made Adam a birthday sign.
He told me it says Happy Birthday Adam.
He put on tape and hung it up.
Fun in the tub.

I got up at 5:45. Jacob was up around 7am and was sitting at the table with Grandma and Grandpa when I came out. He was giggling because the “Giant ants (Grandma and Grandpa)” kept eating his pop tart. Jacob wanted to come outside with Jared and I to take care of the animals. This morning I made a cake for Adam’s birthday party. Jacob helped me add the ingredients. Soon Adam was yelling for me from his crib. Shortly after 9:00 we headed to church. We got home at 11:00. Grandma and Grandpa left to visit a nearby greenhouse. We fed the boys an early lunch. At noon I lay Adam down for a nap. Jared and I had fun decorating the cake. We also decorated the kitchen. Jacob opened his birthday gifts from Grandma and Grandpa. He got a nice outfit and 3 books. He asked Daddy to read the books to him. I brought Adam out at 1:30 (he never did fall asleep). He loved seeing the decorations and the cake. He liked reaching up to touch the streamers that were hung on the ceiling. Mom, Dad, and Grandpa arrived around 2pm. We visited for a little while. Then Adam had fun opening his presents. He got a couple outfits, books, Elmo kite, a make-your-own book, pot and pan set, and some money. Jacob got a kite and make-your-own book as an early birthday gift from Nana and Papa. While Adam finished opening his gifts Jacob sat at the counter and worked on his book. Adam enjoyed looking at pictures in his new books and playing with the pot and pan set. He put dog food in the pan and fed some to Truman. Then it was time for cake and ice cream. Adam liked the trucks on his cake. He smiled like he was trying not to smile. We all sang Happy Birthday to him, which he enjoyed. Jacob helped him blow out his candles but he was too fast for Adam. We lit them a couple more times for Adam to blow out. We watched some videos of the turkeys in Grandpa’s yard. We also watched a video that Mom had taken on Mother’s day. We got some good laughs watching as she carried the camera around when she thought it wasn’t recording. We went outside to fly the boy’s new kites. The wind was strong but not steady enough to keep them up in the air for too long. We sure had fun trying. Jacob got to fly his for a little while though. Grandma, Nana, and I sure worked on getting Elmo up but we never got it long enough for Adam to hold it. Around 4pm Mom, Dad, and Grandpa headed home. Back inside Jacob worked some more on his book. We watched the Red Wing’s game this evening. The boys played with playdoh until dinnertime. Jacob made his own pizza from playdoh. Adam liked rolling out snakes. After dinner the boys made meals using the new pot and pans. We went outside to take care of the animals. The boys played some with the cash register. Then they had fun in the tub until pj time.

Wow what a great double birthday celebration with Grandma and Grandpa. I love the picture of Adam with icing around his mouth, being held by Kimmy -- I hope he gave his Mommy a GREAT BIG KISS!!!
