Day 5

Watching the kites.

The boys found some sand (ant hills).
Pretending to eat.

Jared and I got up at 5am. We headed home to take care of our animals. Before going back to camp Jared stopped at Tim Hortons to get me a cappuccino. We got back to the campground at 7:45. The boys had just woken up and Nana had put the Cars dvd in. They were excited to see Daddy here this morning. After eating breakfast the boys walked around with bowls on their heads and acted silly. When Adam wants us to move out of his way he says, “Watch out!” Jared, the boys, and I went on a long bike ride. We stopped to watch the goldfish in the water. We came back to camp and relaxed outside. The boys played in dirt. Jacob used the camper bathroom and as he turned on the light he said, “Wow, this light never runs out of power.” Mom and Vikki went for a bike ride. Jared woke Kenzie up. I did a 30 min run. Mom and I packed lunches for a trip to Tawas. We left around noon. Mom and Dad rode in the van with us. We ate our packed lunch at a table on the big dock. We saw a huge carp swimming in the water. The boys loved watching the boats and jetski’s going in the water. We had a fun time walking the dock and looking at all the boats. It was a windy day and we watched some people flying their kites. Then we walked around town and went thru some shops. Jacob fell asleep in the stroller before we left the second store. Around 3:30 we started on our drive back to the campground. On the way we stopped to check out a couple other outdoor adventure campgrounds. Jacob continued sleeping in the car and Adam soon was also asleep. We got back around 5:30. Jared went home to take care of our animals. I did another 30 min run. Vikki and Kenzie had set up the screen tent. The boys played in the dirt until dinner was ready. After dinner Kenzie surprised the boys with hot chocolate. Jared ate late when he came back. We took a long walk with Papa around the campground. Kenzie taught the boys how to pretend to be robots. They were tucked in bed by 10pm. I did my morning exercises again tonight. Mom, Vikki, Kenzie, and Jared played dice in the screen tent.

Jacob's typing is interesting -- he is choosing different numerals each day and using the same letters . . .

Funny how the boys (Jacob, Adam, and Max) always finds the dirt pile no matter how small, even a small ant hill. And a little bit of dirt is all they need to keep happy. Sure can keep them busy for a long time too.

Your right Mel. I had to laugh at them playing in the small ant hill sand.
