I did my morning exercises last night. The alarm was set for 5:45. We woke the boys up around 6:30. After breakfast and getting them ready we headed into town for drinks and donuts. Jacob told the “ATM lady” that we were going fishing and also getting donuts. Adam told “her” that the sun was going up. We arrived at the park around 7:45am. Jared signed the boys in for the fishing contest. They each got a Diego fishing pole and a bag with a bobber, hooks, sinkers, free lunch meal ticket, and raffle tickets. Mom and Grandpa got there and I helped Mom unload things from her car. Jared worked on getting the boys poles ready for fishing. The boys had fun looking in Daddy’s tackle box and playing with the rubber fish. Vikki and Kenzie, Mel and her kids soon arrived also. The boys were excited to see their cousins. Jacob stood by Jack’s stroller making silly faces and getting lots of smiles from Jack. After Jared got the kids poles ready we hiked to find a nice area by the pond for fishing. Jacob was excited to catch the first fish. He caught three fish today. Adam caught two and Max caught one. Kenzie caught many. For the contest they measured all the fish and added up the total inches of fish each kids caught. You could take your fish to be measured and then they’d release it. Jacob told me he was sad when they let his fish go. He was happy when I told him we were going back to try and catch more. Around 11:00 we took the kids over to paint their white shirts. They had a table set up with rubber fish, paints, and paintbrushes. After the kids painted their fish we turned their shirts over onto the fish. They had fun and their fish shirts turned out cute. We went back to do some more fishing until lunch was ready. They served hot dogs, snacks, cookies, and juice for lunch. After eating Jacob asked Max to play ring-around-the-rosie with him. We went over to listen to them draw names and tickets for the raffle. The first big prize (a charter fishing trip) went to Max! The kids had fun throwing rocks into the water. The boys (or Jared) won a fish hat, a mini tackle container, and some plastic fish. Mel gave the boys their birthday presents. They got umbrellas and some neat matchbox cars that change colors with warm and cold water. They also opened their presents from Aunt Vikki and Uncle Terry. From them they got some cute pj’s, cars, books, and bubbles. Jacob was even excited about the sunscreen in his birthday bag. He excitedly told me, “I got beach sunscreen!” As I was putting some things in the van Adam played with Hailey and Max on the swing set. When I started to carry Adam back to the van he cried and said, “I want my car. Left it, ober dere.” He took me right to where he had put it. We headed home around 1:30 but ended up turning around to go back and get Kenzie’s fish shirt. We stopped at Mom’s house to drop off Kenzie’s shirt. The boys fell asleep in the car. We stayed for a short time at Mom’s. Adam woke up and got to watch the helicopter flying above the field across the road. He waved at it. We got home around 3:00. Jared started not feeling well again. The boys played with their umbrellas and we also had fun with their color changing cars. I think Jared and I have just as much fun with those cars. Jared rested on the couch while I went outside on the deck with the boys. They had fun blowing bubbles. I did a 30 min run. Jacob made a house. As he told me what things were in his house he said, “You know what. I store animals, just attend (pretend) animals.” Adam got in the truck and said, “I go-in back to work” and he made horn sounds. Jacob said, “I wish Max could come here and spend the night.” We went to take care of the animals. Jacob helped me block the broilers so they didn’t come out of the stall while I fed them. Jared came out and helped us finish up with the animals. We went inside to start getting dinner ready. It started lightly sprinkling outside so the boys got to try out their new umbrellas. After dinner the boys “helped” Daddy play Mario Kart. They were very tired so we tucked them in bed shortly after 8:00.

What a great day. So much fun.
Great fishing pictures. I love the one of Jacob looking at the fishes mouth. Sure was a fun day. We'll have to do this every year. Cute how the boys wanted to play with their umbrellas in the house. Love how Jacob set it up to play cars under it. Sweet how Jacob wants Max to come spend the night and play with him. They sure had a great time together today. The pictures them playing Ring-around-the-rosie and then with their heads together are too cute.
I love seeing the pictures of our fun family day. What a great time we all had. Cute kiddos!
